Open Cockpit Days Through Sept. 1
Cockpits of several aircraft will be open so kids and adults can experience U.S. Marine Corps aviation from a pilot’s perspective. Strap into an ejection seat, put on a helmet, talk to pilots and try your luck with an “I Spy” activity. See 31 historical aircraft up close
as well as hundreds of artifacts from the earliest days of aviation to present day. Open Cockpit Days are a family friendly activity that will be hosted every other weekend during the summer. https://flyingleathernecks.org/

Big Bay BOOM July 4
The Big Bay Boom July 4th Fireworks Show is back, promising another spectacular display over San Diego Bay. Fireworks will be discharged simultaneously from barges placed strategically around the Bay off Shelter Island, Harbor Island, Embarcadero
North, Seaport Village, Embarcadero South Marina Park and Coronado Ferry Landing. The impeccably choreographed display will last approximately 17 minutes.

Horizon Music Festival July 6

Del Mar Races July 7-Sept. 2
San Diego horse racing takes place where the “turf meets the surf” at the Del Mar Racetrack. Kastles competition, Farmer’s Market and International Food Fair.

Mission San Diego Festival of the Bells July 13-14
The festivities include food, live entertainment, dancing, and traditional activities like the Blessing of the Bells and the Blessing of the Animals. All five Mission bells are rung during the weekend festivities, including the original bell dating back to 1802. The
Festival of the Bells is a great family event and an opportunity for everyone to visit and learn more about this historical landmark.

Dr. Seuss’ ‘The Lorax’ July 2- Aug. 12

Brit Floyd: Eclipse World Tour 2018 July 2
Brit Floyd is a Pink Floyd cover band that covers hits like, “Animals,” “The Wall,” and “Wish You Were Here.” The band is performing on the 45th anniversary of the 1973 album, “The Dark Side of the Moon.” Brit Floyd is widely regarded as the greatest

Scripps Ranch Old Pros 10K/2-Mile Runs, Bike Rides July 4
This event entails activities for all ages. Choose between a 10K race, 2-mile run, 12-mile bike ride, 28-mile bike ride, or 50-mile bike ride. All proceeds benefit local high school students and community athletic programs.

24 Hour Film Challenge July 6-7
The 24 Hour Film Challenge is a competition beginning July 6, where participants have 24 hours to write, film, edit, and submit a short film. This event is available for all ages and contestants will watch their creations on July 7.

Little Italy Summer Film Festival July 7- Aug. 25
Little Italy hosts the Little Italy Summer Film Festival in collaboration with Cinema Little Italy, a series of Italian films with English subtitles. Screenings are every Saturday night in Little Italy’s Amici Park outdoor amphitheater starting at 7:30 p.m. in

Over-the-Line Tournament (OTL) July 14-15 and July 21-22
The 65th Over-the-Line Tournament, hosted by the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club is an adult-only softball competition that is held two weekends each July.
