Point Loma Summer Concerts Aug. 2, 9
Since 2001, Point Loma Summer Concerts has been bringing family-friendly concerts to Point Loma Park, with crowds swelling to nearly 3,000. While many aspects of the concerts have changed over the years, the warm community atmosphere remains the same – as do many of the concert’s sponsors, including the original presenting sponsor, Willis Allen Real Estate, which hasn’t missed a season, the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture, the County of San Diego, and many local businesses and local civic groups. https://www.plconcerts.org
Chula Vista Lemon Festival Aug. 4
Celebrate Chula Vista’s world renowned heritage as the “Lemon Capital of the World” at this year’s Lemon Festival. Enjoy live bands, lemonade, contests, and rock your favorite yellow outfit. This one-day event is open 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Oceanside International Film Festival Aug. 7-11
The Oceanside International Film Festival showcases features, documentaries, shorts, animation, and student works along with workshops and after-parties. Established in 2009, OIFF is an opportunity for independent filmmakers to have their work screened and judged. Located in the Arts District in Liberty Station, is the 14th ArtWalk at Liberty Station festival. This event features more than 200 artists who will showcase paintings, jewelry, sculptures, glass work, photography, and much more.

Carlsbad Art in the Village is Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Grand Avenue in Carlsbad, California. Over 125 local and regional fine artists are featured in the Village of Carlsbad, just two blocks from the beach.
Dog Days of Summer Aug. 12
Dog Days of Summer is San Diego County’s largest dog-centered event and is located in Cardiff, California. It is an all day event and will bring in over 10,000 attendees from all over San Diego. There will be vendors, pet adoptions from local shelters and rescue organizations, as well as, dog and kid zones. There will even be a doggie photo booth. So dress up your best friend (yes, I mean your dog) and come on out and enjoy a fabulously, fun day with the critters. You may even want to get your furry friend entered into some of the contests. The Seventh Annual Latin Food Festival is taking place August 16-17 at Marina Park, San Diego Bay. Bike the Bay Aug. 25
Bike the Bay is a non-competitive community bike ride that is suitable for all ages and lifestyles. Riders begin at San Diego Bay, continue through National City, Chula Vista, and Imperial Beach and have a one-time opportunity to ride their bikes across Coronado Bridge! Registration is $55-$60.
