Oktoberfest in El Cajon Sept 29 – Oct 1; Oct 6-8
San Diego County’s oldest and most traditional Oktoberfest, featuring Germany’s own Guggenbach-Buam performing live oom-pah music on stage, an array of German hot foods, sausages, pretzels and desserts, and German beers on tap. Games, dancing, raffles, contests, a Kids’ Zone. $10 Friday and Saturdays; $5 Sundays.

Adams Avenue Street Fair Sept 30 – Oct 1
Southern California’s largest free two-day music festival is held each year during the last weekend in September. The 35th annual event offers 70 musical acts on 9 stages plus beer gardens and beer tastings, carnival rides, food, and more than 350 arts and crafts booths.

Walk, Run, Celebrate 5K Oct 1
9th annual LightBridge Hospice Walk, Run, Celebrate 5K. Registration $30, kids 12 & under free, leashed dogs welcome. 5K will include free family entertainment, DJ, vendor village, food trucks, animal adoption, and prizes. Proceeds support LightBridge Hospice programs.

Since 1973, the La Mesa Oktoberfest has featured hundreds of exhibitors, family friendly activities, German food, music, dancing, games, and of course beer.

Encinitas Oktoberfest Oct 1

San Diego International Film Festival Oct 4-8
The San Diego International Film Festival is the region’s premier film event and one of the leading stops on the independent festival circuit. SDIFF offers a unique film experience including world premieres, never-before-seen studio releases, independent filmmaking, and a full schedule of glamorous parties and intimate events with filmmakers.

Ocean Beach Oktoberfest Oct 6-7
The 13th annual Ocean Beach Oktoberfest. Festivities kick off Friday at noon with the Oktoberstretch yoga festival, beer garden, live music, and games. The fun picks back up Saturday morning with the OB Brot Trot and DI workout, followed by a German microbrew tasting benefiting the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station, live music, and the annual competitions including the Sausage Toss Competition for a cash prize, bratwurst-eating contest, stein-holding contest, and more.

Great fun, great food, great beers, great cause – great price! 35th Annual Carlsbad Rotary Oktoberfest & Family Fall Festival Oct 7, noon to 10PM. Plenty to do for kids and adults: costume contests, music, arts & crafts, games, rides, and of course – good times with family and friends.

La Jolla Art + Wine Festival Oct 7-8
