Latin American Art Festival  Apr 2
The festival will offer fine foods from Baja California, under the leadership of world-renowned chefs. Latin inspired beers, and exclusive wines from the Baja Region will be offered at the LAAF gourmet food court. On stage, there will be a continuous performing art program that will showcase the richness of Latin culture. Young musicians, dancers, singers and performing artists will bring their professionalism and joyfulness to bring the Latin-American experience to the audience.

Mariachi Festival Apr 2
The 4th Annual Mariachi Festival features the First Ladies of Mariachi, Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles, Mariachi Garibaldi (Southwester College), and Mariachi Toreros (USD and Ballet Folklorico Tierra Caliente). Proceeds will support college scholarships, school materials, literacy programs, and leadership opportunities for youth in North County.

Fast Times 5k Apr 8
The Fast Times 5K is a fun, fast run/walk great for all ages and athletic abilities! This community run at De Anza Cove, Mission Bay benefits the Clairemont Hills Kiwanis which supports the students in public schools in the community of Clairemont. Following the 5K, the Clairemont Day at the Bay family activities will begin. This event is an interactive look at all that is happening in the Clairemont community and is open to all San Diego families.

Exotic Animal Expo Apr 8
6th annual event. Project Wildlife, PEAC, Cheyenne Arabians & Miniatures, Legalize Ferrets, and The San Diego Turtle and Tortoise Society will be in attendance. We will have everything from shells to scales and feathers to hoof stock. Enjoy raffles, music, snacks, and more. Info: 858-488-0658.

Taste of Julian Apr 8
A rural dining adventure. Taste of Julian is a self-guided culinary tour of participating one-of-a-kind restaurants, wineries, and breweries. Printed receipts for tickets purchased online will be validated when brought to the event at the Julian Town Hall, corner of Hwy 78 & Main Street.

2017 Mission Bay Classic Kayak Tournament Apr 15
This annual Heroes on the Water kayak-fishing event kicks off from Santa Clara Point early, as new this year, the halibut division anglers will have the option to check in online the day prior and launch any time after 4am. The bass division will have a shotgun start at 7am. Kids under the age of 18 fish for free with a paid adult. Prize payouts for the top finishers with all proceeds going to Heroes on the Water. Swag bags for the 1st 100 entries, BBQ, raffle & awards.

Mission Valley Craft Beer & Food Festival Apr 15
The 7th Annual Mission Valley Craft Beer and Food Festival offers guests unlimited beer and food tasters. Even spirits!

Red Bull Air Race World Championship  Apr 15-16
The Red Bull Air Race World Championship features the world’s best race pilots in a pure motorsport competition that combines speed, precision, and skill. Using the fastest, most agile and lightweight racing planes, pilots navigate a low-level aerial track made up of air-filled pylons 82 feet high at speeds of up to 230 mph. For the San Diego stop, the track will be set up directly over the water in San Diego Bay. Spectators can take in the high-speed, low-flying action from the North or South Embarcadero Marina Parks.

Creek to Bay Cleanup Apr 22
Save the date for the annual Creek to Bay Cleanup, scheduled on Earth Day to celebrate clean beaches, parks, rivers, and trails.

25th Annual Oceanside Days of Art  Apr 22-23
Free juried fine art festival featuring over 100 artists displaying a variety of art mediums including painting, photography, ceramics, glass and more. Live stage performances, food court, and hands on art activities. The event will be held in and around the plaza of the Oceanside Civic Center along Coast Highway and Pier View Way in downtown Oceanside

CityBeat Festival of Beers Apr 22
Tenth annual event with over 50 breweries, food vendors, and live music.

Butterfly Jungle Thru Apr 23
Each spring the Safari Park’s Hidden Jungle rain forest greenhouse is filled with 10,000 exotic butterflies of all colors and sizes, and guests can walk among them, take photos, and learn different species using a butterfly identification guide. If you wear bright colors, a few might just perch on you to take a closer look. Free with park admission, $42 children, $52 adult.

Earth Day Fair Apr 23
28th annual EarthFair in Balboa Park with more than 300 exhibits from groups sharing what they are doing to help the environment and how you can help. Live music on the Moon Stage located at Park Boulevard and President’s Way will feature the Skyler Lutes Band, the Ballard Mongers, Enter the Blue Sky, Christine Gilardi, Rich Mcgee, Robin Henkel, Dennis Doc James, and more.

Art Alive 2017 Floral Exhibition Apr 28
Art Alive, the museum’s signature fundraiser and annual floral exhibition, brings the museum’s permanent collection to life in a beautiful way. Featuring more than 100 floral interpretations of famous works of art and a central Rotunda design, the exhibition is accompanied by three full days of events.

Mission Federal ArtWalk Apr 29-30
The 33rd annual Mission Federal ArtWalk and stroll through San Diego’s Little Italy to enjoy over 15 blocks filled with artwork from over 350 local, national, and international artists.
